San Francisco & Bay Area Investigations is owned and operated by David Abbott. Mr. Abbott has been involved with the private investigation industry since 2014 and has experience working with a variety of clients including individuals, attorneys, insurance companies, as well as corporate clients. He has a great deal of experience working cases ranging from domestic surveillance, worker’s compensation investigations, motor vehicle investigations and reconstruction, background checks, TSCM scans (bug sweeps), witness interviewing, and more.
A lifelong San Franciscan, Mr. Abbott grew up in San Francisco and continues to live in the city. He has attended schools in the city from elementary school, all the way through college and graduate school. He is well-versed in the unique nature of performing investigative work in San Francisco, as well as the greater Bay Area and is uniquely qualified to conducting effective investigations in this complex and dynamic environment.
Aside from being an experienced investigator, Mr. Abbott is a former police officer with the San Francisco Police department. While working in that capacity, he was stationed at Northern Station, which is one of the busiest stations in the city. In additional to having an extremely high volume of calls for service, the Northern District is one of the most diverse. While working there, Mr. Abbott served all members of the community in areas that include the Polk Street Corridor, Pacific Heights, Lower Haight, the Marina, Western Addition, and Japan Town. During this time, he investigated a multitude of crimes, conducted traffic enforcement stops, and made numerous misdemeanor and felony arrests.
Mr. Abbott has a wide-ranging list of educational accomplishments and considers himself a lifelong student. He is a graduate of the San Francisco Police Department Academy and completed the 40-hour POST Collision Investigation Course from San Francisco Police Department. Mr. Abbott holds an associate degree in administration of justice from the College of the Siskiyous, a bachelor’s degree in economics from San Francisco State University, and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of San Francisco. He most recently earned a certificate of Accomplishment from City College of San Francisco in Italian. In addition to speaking basic Italian, Mr. Abbott also speaks basic Spanish and is fluent in French.
